This is an official comeback and not April’s Fool.  This must have been the longest I ever stayed away from blogging. And beyond the usual reasons (tons of work at the office as well in the household) there were other reasons also: I lost my godmother recently. I was very close to her, she was my second mother. Losing her was extra painful for the whole family. I really miss her a lot...

Chocolate pancakes was the recipe I was wanting to  try out for some time now. I just couldn't find time to make them. I really love rich, long breakfast meals but for my often over-busy family they are just impossible.  But now that the weather got a little bit colder and we are more often willing to cocoon in our home in the weekends, long breakfast is a must. So here comes...

I adore lavender as ingredient in my baking experimentation. Its fine aroma makes you travel in green prairies and spring landscapes. Even in the middle of autumn. While baking this cake, the lavender essence conquers my kitchen and I really love it. The combination with lime and almond is a successful one according to my humble opinion. The result of my new experimentation is an extra...

I have a confession to make: I never have cooked chickpeas again. And of course as I kid I really dispised them. And then I tried out falafel when I grew up. And love it. And then tried fava. I adore it. This was the point I started wondering why I was missing out this yumminess all these years.   I decided to start trying out chickpeas recipes as soon as possible. This quite simple...

During the past week it's getting cold here in Athens. I am snuggling as we speak under my living room blanket. This is how cold it is. The blanket for me equals winter.  And don't get me wrong I am not wining. I love winter. And one of the things I like the most about winter is brunching. And having long and cozy breakfast meals during the weekends.  This is how the recipe...

It's finally this time of the year where the fireplace pics appear all over the social media. We haven't yet used our own fireplace. However I love watching other fireplaces all fired up and toes snuggling in front of them. What about a hot soup in front of the fireplace? Especially one full of colour and aroma ? This post soup gathers some of my favourite ingredients: mushrooms, lime and...

The recipe for this cake was on the fridge door for over a year. Why I haven't for a year baked this cake is a question I cannot reply. I really don't know why. Even my friend Yiouli tried this recipe out and confirmed how yummy the cake came out.  And then one day while cleaning the fridge, I decided to clear the fridge door. You can imagine the situation of the fridge door. Full of...

This Sunday is the Classic Marathon here in Athens. For half of the Athenians it is a day of celebration. For the other half, a day of wining for closed roads. I understand both sides since I was the one wining on Marathon Day for the closed roads up until seven years ago. Up until one year Yiannis decided to participate at the 5km racing. And the next year I decided to join him....

Or better said the ultimate chocolate cake! Check out its opposite Angel Food Cake recipe here. But when things get really ugly and you need to “eat that cake” this is the one. Full of chocolate flavor and fluffiness, it is the best start of a hard day or the best ending of a really ugly one. The ideal companion for this cake is a glass of cold milk. But this is just me. As seen...

Don't be fooled by the title. This is not a clean eating recipe. It's just broccoli and quinoa hacked. I always try to find ways for Yiannis to eat some broccoli since he totally hates it on its own. Check another yummy broccoli recipe here. I, on the other hand, totally love broccoli just steemed with some lemon drops. I am so pleased that you love it also, judging from the appeal my...

Halloween party part two. The first part can be found here. The savoury part of our party included a lot of new recipes and experimentation. All autumn and halloween related of course. The recipe that stood out was definitely the strata shown in the pics above. It is full of taste, aroma and autumn colours. The best thing about it is that you can prepare it the night before, leave it in the...

Throwing halloween parties is a family habit that started 2 years again when I was already blogging. This is perfect for me, since I have the opportunity to gather all my memories in one place. Except for last year when I was already going through a no-photos-please phase where my pics are so few. That's ok I will make up this year.  Halloween is a tradition that is celebrated the last...
